Veronica Di Grigoli is an English woman handling parenthood, the Mafia and a Sicilian Mother-in-law, all at once. She has worked in Istanbul, London, Milan, New York, Zurich, Frankfurt and Palermo. An amazing journey!

I have been following Veronica Di Grigoli’s blog for a few years now,(http://siciliangodmother.com/) laughing along at the Sicilian Housewife’s trails, struggles and confusion associated with day to day life in Sicily as an expat.

Now the blog has become a wonderfully polished and hilarious laugh-out-loud-belly-laughing book and I cannot resist expressing my absolute delight! The Dangerously truthful diary of a Sicilian Housewife is set under the biting heat of the Sicilian sun and sirocco, deep in small town Sicily, far away from anything you can ever imagine.

Veronica Di Grigoli falls in love with a Sicilian, which draws her and her fantastic sense of humor into the complex world of Sicily, which certainly isn’t Tuscany.

The Sicilian housewife generously and honestly shares her personal history about how she ended up moving from high flying London to a Sicilian village and it’s one hell of a journey!

Hysterical, must reading!!! Humor and history all rolled into one!!!

I have been an avid follower of Veronica Di Grigoli's Wordpress blog for a couple of years, and I look forward to her every post. When we were planning a trip to Sicily last year I nearly canceled after reading her description of driving in that country! Yes it was exaggerated to say the least, but it made us doubly alert. My husband was nearly apoplectic by the time the trip was over despite the fact that we loved Sicily!! Her writing is colorful, full of ironic self deprecating humor, and of course comical exaggerations of nearly everything. You will belly laugh out loud, so you should not read this book in public, at the risk of being viewed dangerously unhinged. She is a gifted writer and I recommend this book to everyone whether or not they are interested in Sicily or Italy. It is a treasure!!

More than I expected!

Yes, this is a very humorous book, but it does not stop there. The Dangerously Truthful Diary of a Sicilian Housewife provides some real insights into life in Sicily, as well as some handy travel tips. It's really a fun read- my husband keeps stealing it from me, so I have one chapter left. If you have been to Sicily, dream of traveling to Sicily, or maybe you are just a Sicilianophile (that may not be a real word) you will enjoy reading this book!

Deep Dive but very readable

The Late D.Martin Lloyd Jones was inspired by A. W. Pink. He is recorded as saying that if you are a serious bible student you should read Pink. Wonderful insights and worthy of slow reading and refleciton. The author has a very "high" view of scripture so not everyone will like this but my soul has been feed by this author. I am currently working on his Exodus writings. His book on the Holy spirit covers a seldom talked about person of the Godhead.

Diana Palmer has done it again! Noelle is a wonderful romance between a loving innocent girl and a hard man. Jared is the classic man. He falls head over heels in love with Noelle, thinking she wants his brother, but she really wants him. Diana Palmer has a wonderful knack for witing romance

After losing her family in a flood, penniless Noelle is taken in my Jared Dunn's grandmother. Jared, a hard man, ex texas ranger and lawyer, thinking that Noelle is taking advantage of his grandmother, comes back home to check on the situation and start a new law practice.

Noelle, innocent and kind, is young, hard-working, and has a crush on Andrew, Jared's spoiled stepbrother. To prevent a scandal, Noelle and Jared marry. Life gets complicated...

This is one of the best Diana Palmer stories. Both Noelle and Jared are believable characters, with flaws and qualities. Their reactions ring true and their emotions are well drawn. Noelle, green as she is, soon gets a backbone and holds her own. The law practice and its cases are a nice sub-plot.

It's a pretty clean romance, with heavy petting before marriage and only two sex scene (not really graphic) after.

Same old story from Diana Palmer

I gave up on Diana Palmer a few years ago but picked up this book at a thrift shop just to see if her style had changed a bit. Not a chance. Her plots are EXACTLY the same: young naive girl, arrogant older man. Her heroes are always very insecure men that treat the heroines like trash. I forgot to count the times that he hug/kiss/caress her to be followed by hurtful words. Way too repetitive; like she ran out of ideas.
