Love it. If you home school this is a great and easy way to teach grammar. My 7 year old asks to read it at night and laughs out loud. Each part of speech is given a persona that makes it easy to remeber what each of them do and say. Forget the dull workbook and read this.

An authoritative and reference textbook

One of the best book on inborn error of metabolism combined with pediatric endocrinology. Well written, clinically oriented and provide deep understanding of each disease. Highly recommend to all endocrinogist with special interest in metabolic diseases. The initial sections of acute clinical and emergency management both from diagnostic point of view and initial therapeutic intervention are valuable part of the textbook. The screening of inborn error of metabolism is well written and the classification of diseases making the reading of textbook a pleasant experience.

Very Intriguing Story

Intriguinging situation and characters. Not nearly as dark as The Wind Up Girl. Wish it were more than the first 7 chapters, but hey, it was a free sample, and I'm definitely going to buy the kindle edition when the book is released later this month!

Doesn't live up to the author's other work

I listened to the audio book. First, let me say that I love the author's other work, and so really looked forward to The Doubt Factory. I was sorely disappointed. It took 5 hours of listening to even get to the first mention of "The Doubt Factory;" the only reason I stuck through the initial hour after hour of listening was my conviction that it had to get exciting (and useful) at some point. There was some excitement, sure, but is it really any surprise to anyone that people/companies on all sides of any given issue are spinning available knowledge to their own benefit, or trying to create "new knowledge" that supports their opinion? Of course the idea suggested by the book that there's "the truth" on one side, and "bad people spinning the truth for their own advantage and profit while killing thousands of people," is overly simplistic. In many cases there's a lot more gray. Will "The Doubt Factory" change the way you think about truth and deception when it comes to complicated societal issues like climate change? If it does, I'd love to hear about it!
